Garden Pilot Project

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension provided a venue for locals to participate in a Garden Pilot Project.  Five families participated during the season.  We were able to learn how to address all the issues of planting, pest prevention, watering, weeding and harvesting.  Holly Gatzke, our Extension Educator, provided several presentations to give us the direction we needed.  The Pilot Project is being extended this coming year and will provide additional opportunities to grow healthy food in a community effort.
